Outcome / Goal | JSEC has the responsibility with SHAPE J4 for establishing the AOR wide Alliance Reinforcement and Sustainment Network (RSN) and require a tool to support their efforts to develop and manage the RSN. A REST-CD/ MVP open innovation project is required to demonstrate what is in the art of the possible for SHAPE/NCIA/JSEC stakeholders but also to clearly articulate the desired REST requirements to NCIA. |
Prospect Name | REST Concept Demonstrator |

Background Information Initiative | The proposed open innovation initiative aims to enable the Joint Support and Enabling Command (JSEC) to digitally simulate segments of the Reinforcement and Sustainment Network (RSN) in order to (i) test and validate the RSN concept, (ii) derive refined REST requirements and, (iii) identify REST's technology feasibility. Urgent out-of-cycle open innovation initiative proposal rest concept demonstrator/MVP. REST is an approved NATO 2030 requirement (Reference B) and has been approved by SACEUR as an initial focal area for integration of Artificial Intelligence within ACO. It has been incorporated in the update of the ACO Strategic Management Plan (ASMP) for the period 2024 - 2028 in support of the new Strategic Objective 'Digitally enable ACO'. Due to the recognized benefit of REST for the executability of the DDA family of plans, the open innovation initiative proposal is prioritized as category A - Urgent ACO Key Work-Strand. |
